I’ve just discovered MedWorm …
MedWorm! What a nice surprise discovery! MedWorm is a RSS feed provider which daily collects updates from (at the moment) over 3500 4000 medical data sources (medical blogs and web sites, medical journals).

You can then subscribe (e.g., by using Google Reader) to its outgoing RSS feeds which are conveniently diveded into a number of medical categories (see here for a list of blogs and here for a list of article categories).
(And even better – MedWorm’s database is searchable.)

I also have this RSS feed in my Google Reader page:

Thanks — do they overlap much, or complement each other?
Th
The subject matter overlaps but not the style. Since medlogs is a blogs catalogue, you tend to get the popularized version of recent medical news rather than the formal, scientific version.
Many thanks Thomas for your kind review on MedWorm Thomas – glad you like it. There are now over 4000 sources – and I’m adding more daily. If anyone has a medically related blog, or favourite publication, they would like adding, you can submit your feed after creating a free MedWorm account (sorry this step is in order to help avoid spam – you can delete your account afterwards should you wish).
I encourage you to dig around in MedWorm, clicking on all the different links, as I have added quite a lot of new functionality recently – for example, try the filter button after running a search to see a breakdown of articles by speciality. All searches performed also create there own automatic RSS feed, but if you want a high quality feed, you are probably best browsing the predefined feeds. Also have a look at the Sources tabs on the Publications and Blogs Directories. Note default searches do not include the blog items, just official publications, but you can easily search the blogs by selecting the blogs checkbox next to the Search button.
There’s lots more I will be adding to it soon – but if anyone has any ideas they would like to see incorporated, I always welcome suggestions.
