Thanks Jim, for the good words! And, yes, EAMHMS in Copenhagen in 2010, that's a good idea! I'll ask my colleagues what they think about it. Just saw the program for the Edinburg-meeting in September. Looks very good!

Congratulations Thomas! This recognition prompts me to suggest (insist?) that you host the 2010 Congress of the European Assoc of Museums of the History of Medical Sciences, so more people can see, experience, and celebrate the achievements of you and your compatriots at the Medical Museion. Despite your Scandanavian reticence and disinclination to self promotion, you deserve widespread acknowledgements. You are right about Americans -- shamelessly boastful to a fault. But that's simply the way it is in our harsh competitive society. I like to think that the world of medical museums is a tad less coarse. I recall Percy Skuy's comment that when he sought a home for his contraceptive collection, he was overwhelmed by the spirit of collegiality (sp?) and sharing that he encountered -- quite at odds with his experience working for Big Pharma...

Congratulations - I'm looking forward to having an excuse to travel to Copenhagen to visit the museum. Can I suggest a multiple word (but still idiomatic) translation for 'selvfed'? I would use 'full of oneself' - I think it carries many of the nuances of the Danish term. Though in the light of the museum's achievements, I'm glad you've overcome native reticence!
